A graduate of the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, Cécile Muhire now continues her training at the Université de Montréal with soprano Monique Pagé. A grant recipient from the Jacqueline Desmarais Foundation, she made her debut at the Opéra de Montréal in the role of Strawberry Woman (Porgy and Bess) and then completed two years of training with the Atelier lyrique de l’Opera de Montreal. Recently, she has performed Gretel in Opera Candy: The Gourmet Adventure of Hansel and Gretel, a Jeunesses Musicales Canada production for young audiences, and she has participated in the Pacific Opera Victoria’s production of Don Giovanni in her second time playing the role of Zerlina.
