Soprano Chantal Lambert received a First Prize from the Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal. Following a training course at the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal, she took over the direction of the program in 1990, and has remained faithful to it for over 30 years. At the same time, Chantal Lambert continues to perform mélodies and chansons, and in operas and operettas. The repertoire she tackles, from early music to contemporary creations, is as varied as it is vast. Chantal Lambert has participated in 16 productions of the Opéra de Montréal, several tours with the Orchestre Métropolitain, as well as collaborating with I Musici de Montréal, the Orchestre Baroque de Montréal, and numerous renowned ensembles. Recitals have been the mainstay of her career since the turn of the century. She was President of the Conseil québécois de la musique from 2008 to 2011 and sits on the Board of Directors of the Association for Opera in Canada (AOC). In 2016, she was inducted into the Canadian Opera Hall of Fame. She is the author of a linguistic work: Petit lexique multilingue de l’opéra (French-English-Italian-German), published by Éditions universitaires européennes.
