Marc Hervieux

Since 2009, Marc Hervieux has delighted listeners with albums with pop and classical flavours and received three gold records and three Felix Awards, including two for the Album of the Year in the Classical/Vocal category. With these acclaimed recordings, he has toured Quebec with his collaborating musicians on many occasions. Throughout his career, Hervieux has performed internationally, accepting invitations from prestigious venues in Saint Petersburg, Paris, Seoul, Minneapolis–Saint Paul, Málaga, Metz, Taiwan, and many more. On the national stage, he has performed opera in Montréal, Québec, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Victoria, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and has given concerts from coast to coast with the country’s major symphony orchestras. Hervieux has also shared the stage with famous Quebec artists such as Gilles Vigneault, Ginette Reno, Paul Daraîche and Eric Lapointe, as well as with French singer Gerard Lenorman. Along the way, he indulged himself in the star role of the musical Sister Act, presented at the Just for Laughs Festival. In December 2019, for a third consecutive year, he was back in his role in Décembre, a holiday musical by Québec Issime. In January 2020, he took the stage at the Theatre du Nouveau Monde to bring the poet Nelligan to life in a new production of the opera of the same name. A versatile artist, Hervieux has also enjoyed an active career on broadcast media. After co-hosting the daily television show Cap sur l’été for two consecutive years, he displayed his cheerfulness and musical knowledge on Virtuose, a Radio-Canada variety show hosted by Gregory Charles. Hervieux was a radio presenter on Radio-Classique for four years and can now be heard on Radio-Canada’s ICI Première, ICI Musique and ICI Musique Classique. In June 2022, Marc Hervieux was appointed Director General of the Conservatoire de musique et d’art dramatique du Québec.
