With Albertine en cinq temps – L’opéra, soprano Monique Pagé returns to the stage with the works of Michel Tremblay; we remember her moving interpretation of Émilie Hudon in the opera Nelligan, set to music by André Gagnon. After her debut at the Opéra de Québec, Monique Pagé sang more than 20 leading roles, including La bohème, Carmen, Faust, Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, La traviata, Die Zauberflöte, Così fan tutte, and Alcina. She has sung in Canada, France, Spain, the United States, Russia, and the Middle East, and has collaborated with renowned ensembles such as the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, I Musici de Montréal, Chants Libres, l’Orchestre Métropolitain, l’Orchestre symphonique de Québec, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the Société de musique contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ), and the Sinfonia de Lanaudière. An accomplished artist of refined musicality, Monique Pagé is also an inspired teacher who knows how to communicate her passion to young singers, notably at the Faculty of Music of the Université de Montréal, where she is a professor. A graduate of the Conservatoire de Musique et d’Art dramatique de Québec in the class of Jacqueline Martel-Cistellini, Monique Pagé is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Raoul-Jobin, John-Newmark, Diana-Soviero, and Joseph-Rouleau prizes. She has twice won the Prix de scène from the Gala d’Excellence des arts et de la culture de Québec.
