Praised for his “sonorous timbre” and “remarkable diction” (Olyrix), British tenor Nicholas Scott enjoys a busy international schedule, and has extensive experience in the field of early music.
Nicholas made his Italian debut as Don Carlos in a concert version of Les Indes galantes with Filarmonica Toscanini in 2023, the same year that he performed for Early Music Vancouver for the first time. Nicholas enjoys touring: with Les Arts Florissants, performing in venues such as the Barbican Centre, Philharmonie de Paris, and Carnegie Hall; Ensemble I Gemelli singing Eumete in Il ritorno di Ulisse in patria; Opera Settecento Company (Paulino in Handel’s Titus l’Empereur); Le Poème Harmonique for his debut at the Berlin Philharmonie; Cappella Mediterranea for the reprise of L’Orfeo by Monteverdi, Le Banquet Céleste with Bach’s St John’s Passion in both France and Germany, as well as performances and a recording of the world-premiere of Philippe d’Orléans’ La Jérusalem délivrée at Opéra Royal de Versailles under the baton of Leonardo García Alarcón. The Drottningholm Theatre in Sweden invited Nicholas to sing the role of Renaud in Lully’s Armide for their 2024 summer production. Nicholas will sing Bach’s Mass in B Minor with Orchestre de Paris under the baton of Klaus Mäkelä in March 2025.
Nicholas Scott has an extensive and prolific discography: Les Grands motets pour Louis XV by Charles-Hubert Gervais (Les Ombres), Sacrifices (La Nuova Musica), Cavalli’s Egisto, Lully’s Le bourgeois gentilhomme, Cadmus et Hermione, and Anamorfosi (Le Poème Harmonique), Handel: Chandos Anthems with Orchestre de l’Opéra Royal de Versailles and several albums with Les Arts Florissants, including Les Maîtres du Motet.
