Laura  Andriani excels in répertoire from classic to contemporary eras – both as a soloist and chamber musician – as well as having experience with baroque music. She has  studied with the members of the Amadeus Quartet, the Smetana Quartet, the Quartetto Italiano and she graduated at the Music-Akademie der Stadt Basel with Adelina Oprean. Her mentors have been Franco Gulli, Salvatore Accardo and Sigiswald Kuijken. As first violin of the Alcan Quartet, she performed in Europe, Canada, the United States, China and Korea and recorded many albums including the complete Beethoven Quartets Cycle. She has also been a part of ensembles specializing in the interpretation of contemporary music and orchestras such as the Philharmonic Orchestra of La Scala (Milan). She won the Special Jury Prize for her performance of the Sequenza VIII by Luciano Berio at the 44th International Competition Premio Paganini in Genoa.
