Description
The works recorded on this CD were all composed between 1933 and 1995. Although they are modern in style, they possess a great deal of public appeal and are regularly performed in concert by Isabelle Lapierre. What is offered here, within a wonderful diversity of tones, rhythms and forms, is a journey through the countries where the instrument was born and developed: France, the United States and finally Quebec where composers such as Denis Bédard and Denis Gougeon have produced works that are now part of the saxophone’s essential repertoire.
