Description
In October 2008, Frédéric Champion won the First Prize and the Audience Prize at the Canadian International Organ Competition (CIOC). Born in Lyon, the French organist has won numerous prizes for his interpretations of organ music from the 16th century to the present day. At the initiative of Mr. John Grew, artistic director of the CIOC, we present here a program devoted to internationally renowned French composers, which combines works from the great organ repertoire and more contemporary works. The first edition of the CIOC held in October 2008 attracted a total of 60 applications from 17 countries, from which 16 competitors from 11 countries were selected.
