Description
This recording is intended as a tribute to the musical dialogue established between Europe and America, two continents each with a fascinating past and a vibrant cultural life. The history of these two continents is rich in cultural exchange: the new colonists brought their musical traditions, and later, American jazz would take its place in Europe. Ensemble Caprice (2 Flûte à becs, Alto da gamba, and percussion) offers its vision of transcontinental exchanges in a selection of works spanning from the Middle Ages to the present day, including a tribute to George Gershwin.
