Montreal-born Stéphane Beaulac received a bachelor’s degree in performance from the Université de Montréal, where he studied with Jean-Luc Gagnon. He completed his studies at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal where, as a member of Manon Lafrance’s class, a jury unanimously him a First Prize with marks of 98%. With grants from the Fondation Wilfrid-Pelletier and the Fondation des anciens et des anciennes du Conservatoire de musique de Montréal (the conservatory’s alumni association), he furthered his studies both in Canada and the USA with renowned masters such as Jens Lindemann, James Thompson, Vincent Cichowicz, and Mark Gould.
Since 2002, Stéphane Beaulac has held the position of solo trumpeter with the Orchestre Métropolitain. He is very active as a player in cham-ber ensembles and recitals, and is also frequently invited to play with, among other orchestras, the Orchestre des Grands Ballets Canadiens, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the Orchestre symphonique de Laval, the Chapelle de Montréal, and the Ensemble contemporain de Montréal.
