Anaïs Vigeant

A graduate of the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, Anaïs Vigeant studied double bass at McGill University, where she completed an Artist’s Diploma with great distinction. Recipient of the Joseph McAbbie Scholarship for Excellence, she won the CBC Début competition for emerging soloists. Anaïs Vigeant has toured Europe, South America, and Canada. She took part in several major concerts at the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, joining Pink Martini, George Benson, and Chris Botti, among others. Anaïs is a substitute bassist in various Quebec orchestras, including the FILMharmonic Orchestra; the Orchestre classique de Montréal; the Orchestre des Grands Ballets Canadiens; the Symphonic Orchestras of Sherbrooke, Drummondville, Longueuil, Laval, and Trois-Rivières; the Sinfonia de Lanaudière; the Arion Orchestre Baroque; and the Orchestre philharmonique du Nouveau-Monde. In 2011, she founded the ensemble Epsilon. She teaches double bass at Saint-Edmond High School, Collège Regina Assumpta, Poly-Jeunesse High School in Laval, Cégep Vincent-d’Indy, and Cégep Lionel-Groulx.
