Catherine Major has won numerous awards over the years, including the prestigious Coup de cœur from the Académie Charles-Cros, the Félix-Leclerc prize, and a Jutra for Best film score. As a singer-songwriter, Catherine Major has trod the boards of halls and festivals all over Quebec and abroad. To date, the artist has delivered five albums from her original repertoire, including the most recent, Carte mère, which is also presented on stages in Quebec. Well known for her mastery of the piano, and her intense performances, Catherine is often called upon to collaborate in various collective projects, from pop to classical. She has also written songs for her peers, notably Diane Dufresne, and has been entrusted with the composition of several films scores, documentaries, and musical direction of projects.
