Chantal Dionne, a lyric soprano with a velvety tone and impeccable high notes, stands out for her interpretation of a vast lyric repertoire that ranges from opera to melody to oratorio. Recently, the soprano won the Best Female Vocalist of North America award at the World Folk Vision 2020 International Competition. Her first album, Romances, in collaboration with pianist Louise-Andrée Baril, was an international success. She has also received high praise for her performances of the Countess in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen, Véronique in Messager’s Véronique, and Pamina in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte at the Vienna Volksoper. The soprano is currently preparing her next album, which will focus on her doctoral dissertation topic completed in 2018, the lieder of Max Reger. In addition to her international career, she also works as a voice teacher at the Vincent-d’Indy School of Music with young opera singers at the college level. She can be seen in the role of the singer in the film Arlette, by producer Mariloup Wolfe and released in 2022.
