Dorothéa Ventura

Multitalented artist Dorothéa Ventura is very active on the Quebec artistic scene. Singer, harpsichordist, dancer, actor, vocal coach, choral director, she has participated in some 500 productions with the most prestigious ensembles in Quebec, Canada and Europe. She is also the co-founder of Ensemble ALKEMIA and Sonate 1704. She directs Choeur Opus Novum, is a member of the artistic committee of La Nef, teaches harpsichord at the Cégep de Trois-Rivières, is a regular teacher at Cammac, and has just been nominated assistant artistic director of Les Idées heureuses. She has recorded for theatrical, cinematic, and dance productions, and made some 15 CDs, several of which have won Juno or Opus prizes. As a vocal coach, notably for the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal, she has assisted conductors Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Hervé Niquet, and Andrew Parrott. Solidly trained in classical, modern, and baroque dance, she became a member of the dance company Les Jardins chorégraphiques in 2009. Dorothéa has also acted in several short films and plays, including 150 performances of La mélodie du bonheur from 2010 and 2015, directed by Denise Filiatrault.
