Marie-Claude Roy

Marie-Claude Roy

Marie-Claude Roy, a Belgian-Quebec pianist, has been evolving in a lyrical environment since she was very young. Spontaneous, audacious, solid, and warm, she has put human encounters at the heart of her practice. She has entered into many beautiful collaborations, sharing her communicative flame with artists of quality (Michèle Losier, Marie-Nicole Lemieux, Evelyne Bohen, Philippe Jaroussky, etc.), and has carved out a place for herself in a musical landscape as varied as it is demanding. She had the chance to work in Belgium at the Flemish Opera, the Royal Opera of Liège, the Monnaie, the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, the ARTS2 / Conservatoire royal de Mons and the Institut supérieur de musique et de pédagogie (IMEP), where she was able to give free rein to her taste for transmission, an essential value in her eyes. As a soloist, chamber musician, accompanist, and vocal coach, and driven by insatiable curiosity, she is as much involved in contemporary music as in opera.
