Mélisande McNabney performs keyboard music of all periods on the harpsichord, organ, fortepiano and piano. She won third prize at the 2015 edition of the International competition Musica Antiqua in Bruges, Belgium.

An active artist on the concert scene, McNabney has performed as a soloist at the Festival de Lanaudière, at Bourgie Hall as part of the Clavecin en concert and Jacques-Dansereau series, as well as at several festivals across Canada and Europe. During the 2020–2021 season, she performed with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and the Violons du Roy. In both chamber and orchestral music, she is a regular guest of celebrated ensembles such as the Violons du Roy, I Musici, Ensemble Caprice, Les idées heureuses and Arion Baroque Orchestra. She has also toured the United States and Canada on several occasions as a member of ensembles Pallade Musica and Les Songes. With several recordings to her credit with various ensembles, McNabney released her debut solo album Inspirations : D’Anglebert, Forqueray, Rameau in January 2019 on the ATMA Classique label. The album was critically acclaimed and received 5 diapasons in the renowned French magazine Diapason.

In addition to her performing activities, McNabney has carried out projects as a researcher in musicology. In the summer of 2021, she participated in two international conferences: the Historical Keyboard Society of North America Conference in St. Paul, Minnesota, and the Biennial International Conference on Baroque Music in Birmingham, United Kingdom. McNabney is a graduate of the Amsterdam Conservatory, where she studied harpsichord, continuo and fortepiano with Bob van Asperen and Richard Egarr. Thanks to the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarships Program, she completed her doctoral studies at McGill University in May 2017 under the guidance of Hank Knox and Tom Beghin. McNabney has received grants from Musicaction, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Banff Centre, the SSHRC, the FQRSC and the CALQ.
