Rosalie Asselin

From the opera and orchestra to recitals and choral singing, the highly versatile artist Rosalie Asselin has graced numerous projects with her musicality and energy. With Jeunesses Musicales Canada, she has participated in four cross-Canada opera tours. Under the direction of such conductors as Kent Nagano, Jacques Lacombe, and Andrew Megill, she has worked with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal as a choral rehearsal pianist. Asselin has been performing the piano parts with the Grands Ballets Orchestra for several years. In the fall of 2019, she was a soloist in L’amant de lady Chatterley and has been a rehearsal pianist for some of their productions since 2019. She has worked with voice students at the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Music and as a vocal coach for opera workshops at Université de Sherbrooke. She has also been a guest accompanist at the Domaine Forget Academy since 2009. In addition to her involvement with these esteemed institutions, in 2017, Asselin took part in the creation of Le bout cassé de tous les chemins with mezzo-soprano Stéphanie Pothier, a critically acclaimed recital of melodies by Quebec composers. In 2020, she performed piano at the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde for the opera Nelligan.
