Sophie Naubert, soprano

Young soprano Sophie Naubert is known for her musicality, sensitivity and enthusiasm. At the age of 23, she made her debut as a soloist with the Orchestre Métropolitain under the direction of Yannick Nézet‑Séguin, with the Philharmonisches Orchester – Staatstheater Cottbus at the Berlin Konzerthaus and with the Arion Orchestre Baroque in Montréal. That same year, she was among the winners of the 2021 edition of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal Competition. Sophie also participated in the Concours musical international de Montréal in June 2022 in the Aria category. Having completed her bachelor’s degree at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal under Aline Kutan, she is currently doing a master’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin under the tutelage of Anna Samuil. Sophie has also won several prizes and bursaries, including bursaries awarded by Jeunesses Musicales du Canada, RBC Prestige and Opéra Bouffe du Québec. A two-time winner in the Pierre-de Saurel Music Competition, Sophie also won the Herbert J. Frank award at the George London Music Competition, as well as placing 1st in the Hal Leonard Music Competition among many others. Having composed several musical works herself, she created two of her compositions for voice and piano in the past year: Les trois moitiés d’une planète (text: Clémence Roy-Darisse) and The Lost Child: A 12-Tone Serial Song..
