Yvan Sabourin

After studying music at the Université de Montréal, Yvan Sabourin obtained a master’s degree in choral conducting at the Université de Sherbrooke under the supervision of visiting professor Nicole Paiement. Recently he completed an advanced program during three years with Bernard Têtu in France. Yvan Sabourin has directed several choirs in the Montreal region, including the Ensemble vocal Stakato. He contributed to the sound recording for the most recent Cirque Éloize show, NEBBIA, which was premiered in Geneva, Switzerland. In the summer of 2010 he and the Ensemble vocal Ganymède were invited to the Festival Choral International de Neuchâtel in Switzerland, where they won the special prize for diversity. While touring France with Ganymède in the summer of 2007, he conducted a workshop at the Choralies Internationales d’À Coeur Joie at Vaison-la-Romaine, presenting pieces by the Canadian composer Lionel Daunais. He is frequently invited to run choralworkshops in France and in Belgium.
