Yves Léveillé

Yuri Gorodetski was born in Mogilev, Belarus. After graduating from the Belarusian State Academy of Music in 2007(with Viktor I. Scorobogatov), he studied with Raina Kabaivanska at the Vecchi Tonelli Institute in Modena and at the Chapelle Musical Reine Elisabeth in Belgium with José van Dam. Currently,Yuri is a member of the Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program inWashington, DC. Awards include 5th prize at the 2008 Queen Elisabeth International Vocal Competition in Brussels; 1st prize at the 2010 Stanislaw Moniuszko International Singing Competition in Warsaw and the ATMA Classique prize at the 2012 Montreal International Music Competition. At Belarusian National Opera, Yuri has performed repertoire including Count Almaviva (Il barbiere de Siviglia), Alfredo (La traviata), Vladimir Igorevich (Prince Igor) and Lensky (Eugene Onegin). In 2012 Yuri debuted at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia as Tamino (Die Zauberflöte) and withWashington National Opera as Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni). Future plans include Jaquino (Fidelio) in Liège and Così fan tutte in Bolshoi in Moscow.
