Description
Claude Debussy conveyed his skill as a brilliant colourist through his works for solo piano. So evocative are these pieces that many great conductors and composers have been inspired to arrange them to employ the full palette available to a symphony orchestra. The results are spirited, inventive scores which enrich the listener’s perception of the original — and in some cases, perhaps even surpass it. Conductor Yoav Talmi leads Canada’s oldest symphony orchestra, the Orchestre symphonique de Québec, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2002.
