Description
Innu soprano Elisabeth St-Gelais makes her ATMA Classique debut with Infini, a gorgeous new EP to be distributed in vinyl and digital formats. The album features St-Gelais in an array of French melodies, accompanied by Louise Pelletier, piano.
“I’ve performed a lot of French mélodies, much more than German lieder or opera,” says Elisabeth St-Gelais “I found it interesting to sing in my mother tongue, to be able to work on my interpretation in detail and to show where I am from: a French-speaking province.”
Infini includes rarely-recorded mélodies by Cécile Chaminade (Infini and Villanelle), Georges Bizet (Pastel), Camille Saint-Saëns (Si vous n’avez rien à me dire) along with well-known songs by Henri Duparc (Chanson triste and Phidylé) and Francis Poulenc (Les chemins de l’amour).
