Description
Organist Yves-G. Préfontaine performs works by Nicolas Geoffroy, Jean-François Dandrieu, Jehan Titelouze and Louis-Nicolas Clérambault, in addition, excerpts from Le Livre de Montréal and a Magnificat octavi toni published at Pierre Attaignant. This French tradition repertoire covers two centuries of verses organ played here on the Guilbault-Thérien organ at the Chapelle du Grand Séminaire de Montréal (1991). This instrument is largely inspired by Dom Bedos, the mechanical-traction instrument counts 39 stops spread over four keyboards, and is fed air by four pleated bellows, as was the case in the 18th century.
