Description

The origin of the guiding theme of this CD lies in the instant attraction to Henri Pousseur’s Naturel for solo horn that occurred during a presentation of the work by Francis Orval, a work which is based entirely on natural harmonics. This recording is the third and conclusive element of a Montreal-Liège exchange co-produced by the Conservatoire de Montréal and the Conservatoire Royal de Liège. This CD is a testimony of inter-community exchanges that implied the musicians, composers and music lovers of Liège and Montréal.

The disc features Belgium composers Paula Defresne and Henri Pousseur, and three Quebec composers, Bruce Mather, Michel Gonneville and Jean-François Laporte.
