Description
Artistic director and principal conductor of the Orchester Métropolitain since 2000, Yannick Nézet-Séguin is one of the most sought-after conductors in the world. In September 2012, he became Music Director of the prestigious Philadelphia Orchestra. This position is in addition to that of Music Director of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra where he succeeded Valery Gergiev in 2008. Since that same year, he has also been Principal Guest Conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. After obtaining a Félix for the recording of Symphony No. 4 by Anton Bruckner with the Orchester Métropolitain, Yannick Nézet-Séguin tackles Symphony No. 6 by the Austrian master. This is the fifth ATMA recording of Bruckner’s symphonies with the Orchester Métropolitain under the direction of Maestro Nézet-Séguin. Bruckner’s previously published Symphonies Nos. 4, 7, 8 and 9 have been critically acclaimed.
