Oraison (the Prayer), an extract from Olivier Messaien’s Fetes des belles eaux (Feast of the Beautiful Waters), was included in the soundtrack of The Revenant, the critically acclaimed film directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu starring Leonardo DiCaprio. The Revenant recently won a Golden Globe for best dramatic film and has garnered twelve Oscar nominations. The track is performed on the ondes Martenot — an early electronic instrument invented by and named after Maurice Martenot — by the Ensemble d’ondes de Montréal.
