ATMA Classique is pleased to announce the debut solo recording of violinist Jonathan Crow. Sonatas for Violin and Piano features works by Elgar, Strauss, and Ravel performed by Crow and pianist Paul Stewart.

Crow has chosen three sonatas for violin and piano composed within a 31-year span by composers of hugely popular works for large orchestras. Strauss’ 1887 sonata and Ravel’s 1897 work (published after his death) are the products of very young men at the beginnings of their careers, while Elgar’s 1918 sonata is one of his last works.
