Description
Julian Wachner’s Triptych for Organ and Large Orchestra was commissioned by Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Montreal in celebration of its 100th anniversary in 2004. Triptych was recorded at Saint Joseph’s Oratory. The building itself, with its magnificent dome, overlooks Mont Royal — from which the city of Montreal derives its name. The main basilica situated at the peak of the structure, boasts a reverberation time of over 5 seconds and is almost two football fields in length! All of these background elements influenced Julian Wachner for the composition of this Triptych for Organ and Large Orchestra.
