Description
This recording is the second in a critically-acclaimed series entitled Découvertes 1890-1939 featuring pianist Stéphane Lemelin and his colleagues Anne Robert and Paul Marleyn, who together form the Trio Hochelaga, performing works by little-known French composers. They are joined by oboist Philippe Magnan and violist Jean-Luc Plourde to perform a quartet and quintet by Théodore Dubois, a leading light of the French musical establishment at the beginning of the 20th century. ATMA’s 2006 recording of music by Dubois was praised for its “finely wrought passion” by the Globe and Mail.
