Daniel Taylor is today one of the most sought-after countertenors in the world. His debut at the Glyndebourne Festival in Peter Sellars’s production of Handel’s Theodora was met with unanimous critical acclaim, following his stunning professional debut in Jonathan Miller’s staging of Handel’s Rodelinda.

He is in increasing demand with many of the world’s leading early-music and contemporary ensembles, appearing in operatic productions (Metropolitan Opera, Glyndebourne, Rome, San Francisco), in major oratorios (The Monteverdi Choir and The English Baroque Soloists, Les Arts Florissants, Collegium Vocale Ghent, the RIAS Kammerchor Berlin and the Stuttgart Chamber Choir, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, the Academy of Ancient Music), in symphonic repertoire (Dallas, Montreal, Houston, Toronto, St. Louis, Rotterdam), and in recital (Tragicomedia, Les Voix Humaines, Teatro Lirico, Arion).

Daniel Taylor records as a soloist for the ATMA label. Several of his recordings have received major awards: Purcell – On the Muse’s Isle (Opus Prize, 1998); Dowland – Tears of the Muse (Félix Award, 1998); L’Étoile d’Orient (Opus Prize 2000 – Recording Event of the Year).
